Charlie Mayton has been around machine vision most of his career. With over 16 years of hands on development and implementation experience related to Cognex equipment and software, he spent the past six years with a Cognex Preferred Systems Integrator. Charlie’s degree in technical theatre was a great jumping off point for his engineering forte and passion.
Born in the south suburb of Chicago Heights, Charlie is: a White Sox fan, an outdoor enthusiast, music lover, and proud father of three children. His two boys, 10 and 13, and his 18 year old daughter keep him busy most evenings and weekends. He is a Cubmaster for a pack of 65 boys and an assistant scout master for a troop of 100 boys. Being active in his church and community has lead Charlie to recognize that service to others is its own reward. Charlie and his eldest son are weekly contributors to both the Montgomery and Oswego Patch newspapers; additionally he regularly organizes community events in his adopted hometown of Aurora IL., where he has lived with his wife and family for the last 16 years.
