Fail-safe Standstill Monitors

AZR 31 S1 and FWS range standstill monitors serve for fail-safe registration of machine standstill and control of safety solenoid interlocks on sliding, hinged or removable guard doors. Depending on the external circuits arrangements, the protection system can be secured up to the requirements of Control Category 4 to EN ISO 13849-1 in combination with an AES or AZR range safety monitoring module.

Design and mode of operation:
AZR 31 S1 and FWS range standstill monitors are designed with redundant internal circuits. They are equipped with two safety relays with monitored positive-guided contacts. The enabling path controls the supply to the coil of an AZM range solenoid interlock thus enabling the guard door to be opened.

AZR 31 S1 range
The AZR 31 S1 sensor-free standstill monitor is direcly connected to a three-phase motor and measures the frequenc of the inducted voltage. On standstill of the motor (f = 0), the enabling paths close. The standstill monitor is equipped with light-emitting diodes to indicate the operating conditions.

FWS range
FWS range standstill monitors evaluate the impulses produced by rotating movement in inductive proximity switches or incremental shaft encoders, for example. When the recorded sequence of impulses falls below the limiting frequency, the enabling paths close. FWS range standstill monitors are equipped with Integral System Diagnostics (ISD) for fast and simple recognition of faults. The user receives information regarding the switching condition of the standstill monitor and sensor by means of multi-function LED.

The standstill monitors are available for various operating voltages.
