Small Safety Light Barrier
The Schmersal safety light barriers SLB 240 and SLB 440 are very compact and feature integrated evaluation electronics in accordance with the latest IEC 61496-1, -2 standard for safety devices which function without contact. The type 2 and type 4 version of the product family is designed without external safety evaluation and can be implemented directly in the safety circuit.
All versions have a visual configuration aid, which simplifies commissioning considerably. The SLB versions offer a 4-stage coding. This means that up to 4 sensor pairs can be used in an application in one direction without reciprocal influence. Parameterisation takes place without the assistance of a PC or commissioning system. All that is needed is a command device (button). The modes of operation available are setup, automatic or restart and also diagnosis. The 440-H version can be used in outside areas with an integrated heater for very low temperatures and monitors access areas up to a distance of 75 m.
The unique product family of the SLB 240/440 series can be used for various applications in processing centres for assembly/ handling as well as in the timber, paper and print industry, high shelf warehouses or packaging machines
